Mr. Cao joined TianTong Law Firm in 2014 as an “Outstanding Graduate of Beijing” and was assigned to TianTong’s Chongqing office in October 2017 to assist with the offices-to-headquarter integration. He specializes in dispute resolution in the fields of finance, including insurance and banking, lending and guarantee, and enforcement procedures, including enforcement objection and enforcement objection proceeding. He has provided legal services for PICC, SINOSURE, Western Securities, Guiyang Industry Investment, CLC and Guoan Construction, etc., recovering or avoiding losses in the total amount of over a billion RMB for his clients.


Mr. Cao has also gained fame for sharing his experience with legal practitioners through various organizations such as Jiangyin Lawyers Association, Fuzhou Lawyers Association, Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court and Luneng Group, and as an external lecturer for the Non-litigation Academy.

Representative Cases:


1. Represented the insurance company in the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) marine insurance contract dispute case in which the SPC overruled the first and second instance verdict against his client based on the new evidence found by him in the retrial, recovering losses totaling RMB 40 million for his client,
2. Represented the SPC securities investment contract dispute series cases in which the SPC recognized for the first time the validity of the Valuation Adjustment Mechanism (VAM) between shareholders and investors, recovering losses totaling RMB 200 million for his client,
3. Represented the SPC construction contract dispute case in which the SPC supported almost all seven appeal requests based on thousands of construction process evidence sorted out by his team, winning additional RMB 15 million for his client, and
4. Represented the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC) compensation transfer agreement dispute case in which the tribunal recognized the validity of an important clause based on Mr Cao’s study and explanation of the transaction structure, avoiding losses totaling USD 23 million for his client.
